Woman on Highland - Oil Painting

I worked the cover under the tray with sculpture dough and colored the upper side of it with oil paint.

Description: As summer comes in Turkey, and weather warms, village people migrate to the cooler highlands of the region and stay there until the winter. They bring their small cattle and poultry with them. Women’s work don’t even end there also. They make their own bread. Various pastries are their main dishes. Their food are mainly pastries made from wheat and barley flour. They cook them on large metal sheet trays called ‘sac’ on wood fire. These metal trays look like inverted pans. The women here will open their dough on the metal tray, cook it on the fire and feed themselves. Various herbs, cheeses etc. are wrapped in these phyllo pastries and are very delicious.
