Harem in Palace - Handmade Sculpture

Story: I had a wonderful painting teacher at school. She was very creative, very special and beautiful person.

I worked on this kind of paintings while I worked with my teacher.. What we didn't do! Many of my similar paintings were sold in my exhibitions.

Description: A work depicting a room in an Istanbul mansion. The slaves did the work of rich families. I would like to say that I am very glad that the slavery that exists all over the world has abolished. While the girls did the housework, these male slaves used to guard women. These male slaves were castrated because women were forbidden to meet stranger men. These slaves were mostly in the service of women in the harem at the Ottoman Palace. The lives of court women were extremely boring. They had to study and learn crafts all day. Most of them would learn to play a musical instrument.

In this painting, I worked a snapshot of a women's section of a mansion room with utmost simplification. A woman is looking out the window, speaking to a saleswoman to buy cloth and similar things. Standing woman preparing to smoke tobacco. The long-handled item on the ground is a tobacco tool. The black man on the corner depicts a castrated slave.
